How are you fabulous people doing today? As you can see, I’ve done something different to my hair. Well, I finally got brave enough to do the big chop. It should have been done some time ago, but I just couldn’t bring myself to that point.
My hair started falling out a couple of months after I started chemo, and I was advised to just cut it, that it will make me feel better. Even though I was watching my hair fall out, I was feeling like if I cut it, I was giving in and the Leukemia was winning. I would wear different styles of wigs which was a lot of fun, so I stop putting much thought into cutting my hair.
Well a few days ago, I was getting ready to order a wig, but then something happened that I can’t fully explain. I can only describe it as a strong urge to just do it. Just do “The Big Chop!”
I went to the bathroom, got out the hair clippers, put on the size 7 clipper blade, and just started cutting. After I finished cutting, I checked for any balled spots, and there wasn’t any. I was so happy I didn’t have to cut my hair completely balled, and I was very pleased that I was brave enough to cut it myself.
The big chopped was on Friday, June 23rd. The photos above were taken on June 25th. I must admit, I should have did this a long time ago as I’m really feeling my new look. Well, the first day it was kind of weird, because I’m so use to wearing big hair. Plus, I have chubby cheeks, so I thought I looked like Ms. Potatoe Head, lol.
Anyways, I played around with styling it, so I added a side part and these pics were the final result. I didn’t even put on any make-up when I took these selfies. Just my signature eye-liner and lipstick.
Let me know what you think of my new cut. Do I look like Ms. Potatoe Head, lol?
Thank you for stopping by.
